Men's Swimming cruises by Marymount, 151.5-52.5, on Senior Day

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's swim team dominated in the pool against Marymount Friday afternoon in front of a noisy crowd inside Maggs Pool. The team broke five pool records during the day while winning 10 out of the 11 events outright and tying with Marymount in the 100-meter backstroke.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Salisbury University men had an electric start to the meet as they topped the podium in the 200-meter medley relay with a new pool record. The team of Lucas Mitchell, Brady Wolf, Christopher Knorr, and Michael DeSimone took ownership of the pool record with their time of 1:44.25.
  • Matthew Arter followed up the relay team's record with a pool record of his own, setting a new mark in the 1,500-meter freestyle with a time of 16.42.23.
  • During the exciting 50-meter freestyle, DeSimone took first place by two-tenths of a second and set a new pool record in the process with his time of 23.52.
  • The Sea Gulls monopolized the 200-meter IM as they took the entire podium. Dominic Kazzi established a new pool record with his first-place time of 2:10.32. Wolf claimed second place as he finished one second behind Kazzi and Gabriele Miksa took with a time of 2:14.48.
  • Salisbury earned a 1-2 finish in the 100-meter breaststroke as Wolf and Daniel Grigoryev took the top two spots on the podium. With his time of 1:03.80, Wolf took ownership of the pool record in the event.
  • In the final event of the meet, the Sea Gulls closed out with another event win. The team of Owen Brewer, Knorr, Kazzi, and Mark Dattilio took first with a time of 1:35.82, finishing nearly three seconds ahead of second.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Sea Gulls go on the road, taking on the Catholic Cardinals to finish the regular season.
  • The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Dufour Center Pool in Washington, D.C.
