Men’s Swimming sets records, powers by Washington (Md.), 203-59

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's swimming team defended its home territory for the first time this season with ease, setting six pool records on the way to besting the Washington College Shoremen, 203-59, on Saturday afternoon at Maggs Pool.
 
MEET NOTES
  • Mason Potts continued his blazing start with four more gold medals, including individual titles in the 200-meter freestyle (1:56.40) and 100-meter butterfly (56.22). Potts also set a program record in the 50 fly, posting a converted time of 23.08 as part of a split from his 100 fly.
  • Brady Wolf nabbed golds in all three of his races, winning two of the individual breaststroke races with a 1:05.25 in the 100-meter breast and a 2:25.27 in the 200-meter breast.
  • Ethan Litteken won the 200-meter butterfly in 2:15.59 and followed it up with a win in the 400-meter freestyle in 4:22.43.
  • David Gardner claimed gold in the 800-meter freestyle (8:58.97) and took a silver in the 400-meter freestyle (4:26.18).
  • Michael DeSimone medaled in all four of his races, taking individual silvers in the 100-meter backstroke (1:00.70) and 100-meter freestyle (54.68).
  • The Sea Gulls won both relay races on the day. In the 200-meter medley relay, Potts, Wolf, Owen Brewer, and DeSimone touched up first in 1:44.51.
  • In the 400-meter freestyle relay, Potts, Kyle Skelly, DeSimone, and Brewer set a pool record with a winning time of 3:33.36.
  • In total, Salisbury captured 35 medals during the meet (12 gold, 13 silver, 10 bronze).

  • Men's 200 free – Mason Potts, 1:56.40
  • Men's 50 fly – Potts, 25.47 (extracted from 100 fly)
  • Men's 100 fly – Potts, 56.22
  • Men's 100 free – Potts, 51.94 (leadoff split in 400 free relay)
  • Men's 400 IM – Ethan Lloyd, 4:41.83
  • Men's 400 free relay – Potts, Kyle Skelly, Michael DeSimone, Owen Brewer; 3:33.36
 
The Sea Gulls will have two weeks to prepare for the three-day Yellow Jacket Invitational in Hampton, Va. on Nov. 22-24. Day 1 events from the Hampton Aquaplex are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
