Women’s Tennis takes down Shenandoah, 7-2

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team continued its hot start to the season with a 7-2 win over the Shenandoah Hornets on Sunday afternoon at the SU Indoor Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Sea Gulls took two of the three doubles matches to open the day. Sarah Cooper and Lily Muir earned an 8-4 win in second doubles, while Evelyn Whiteside and Hannah Carter took care of business in third doubles, 8-5.
  • Gibelle Beaujon earned a hard-fought victory in first singles. After dropping the first set 7-6, Beaujon bounced back to take the second set 7-5, then outlasted Shenandoah's Tanea Spruill 12-10 in the tiebreaking third set.
  • Olivia Hall also won a three-set showdown with Olivia Guzzo, falling 7-5 in the opener before getting square 6-2 and taking the third 10-7.
  • Cooper, Muir, and Carter each earned easy straight-set victories in third, fourth, and fifth singles, respectively.
UP NEXT
  • The Sea Gulls hit the road for the first time with a trip to Towson, Md., to take on Gettysburg on Saturday, Mar. 2 at 12 p.m.
