Men’s Tennis buries Goucher, 8-1, for fourth straight win

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team breezed to its fourth straight dual-match win with an 8-1 triumph over the Goucher Gophers on Sunday afternoon at the SU Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Sea Gulls won all three doubles matches by an aggregate score of 24-5. Caleb Brightman and Gurv Suri teamed up to take second doubles 8-1, while Gianluca Beaujon and Jhayden Pappas in first doubles, as well as Mitchell Desman and Aron Bursztyn in third doubles, both won by 8-2 margins.
  • Beaujon capped a perfect weekend by cruising over Unai Laguardia Alvarez in first singles (6-1, 6-1). Beaujon also won a pair of matches against Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.
  • Suri also easily won third singles (6-2, 6-2) over Asprella Tadeo to finish a clean-sweep weekend.
  • Bursztyn (6-2, 7-6) and Desman (6-2, 6-1) took fourth and sixth singles, respectively, in straight sets, while Christopher Catan (2-6, 6-0, 6-0) rallied to beat Angel Cerpa in a three-set fifth singles tilt.

  • The Sea Gulls will face Gettysburg at a neutral venue at Goucher on Saturday.
  • First serve from Towson, Md. is set for 12 p.m.
