Women’s Tennis edges out Berry (Ga.), 5-4

ROME, Ga. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team battled hard for its first victory of the Georgia trip, edging out the Berry Vikings, 5-4, on Tuesday afternoon at the Rome Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Sea Gulls took two out of three doubles matches to open proceedings. Hannah Carter and Evelyn Whiteside captured third doubles by an 8-5 margin, while Gibelle Beaujon and Olivia Hall sweated out an 8-7 (7-4) victory in first doubles.
  • Beaujon took first singles in straight sets (6-2, 6-4), while Hannah Carter breezed to a 6-0, 6-3 win in fifth singles.
  • In the only three-set singles match of the day, Sarah Cooper clinched the team win for SU by besting Lacey Craig (6-4, 2-6, 7-5) in third singles.

  • The Sea Gulls cap their Spring Break swing on Wednesday afternoon at Covenant. First serve from Lookout Mountain, Ga., is set for 3 p.m.
