The Rundown

The top-ranked, top-seeded, and unbeaten Salisbury University men's lacrosse team begins its postseason journey on Wednesday, May 1 against the fourth-seeded Kean University Cougars. The game is set for a 5 p.m. start inside Sea Gull Stadium. The winner advances to Sunday's CLC Championship Game to face the victor of Wednesday's first game between second-seeded and seventh-ranked Christopher Newport and third-seeded Stockton University.

How We Got Here 

Top-ranked Salisbury completed the 15th undefeated regular season in program history in 2024, finishing unscathed in an uninterrupted campaign for the first time since 2016 with a 17-0 record including a 5-0 mark in CLC play. During the season, the Sea Gulls defeated four ranked teams, including a 14-8 triumph over then-No. 6 Gettysburg to avenge the lone loss from 2023's title run. Salisbury finished the season 9-0 at home, 7-0 on the road, and 1-0 in neutral-site games. The Sea Gulls have won 53 straight games at Sea Gull Stadium, boasting an overall win streak of 36 games dating back to Feb. 25, 2023.

  • Jude Brown - Brown finished the season with a team-high 93 points on 31 goals and 62 assists. Brown leads the CLC in both assists and points, ranking third nationally in assists per game (3.65) and 13th in Division III in points per contest (5.53).
  • Riley Strub - Strub's move from the second midfield line to attack paid dividends in 2024. The sophomore recorded 53 points on 41 goals and 12 helpers in 14 games on the starting attack.
  • Ty Keaton - In nine games since joining the fray as a regular starter on attack in late March, Keaton has collected 25 goals and 31 points. Keaton has been arguably the most efficient Sea Gull shooter, leading the CLC and ranking 35th in Division III connecting on 45.6 percent of his looks.
  • Chris Wong  - Wong, a transfer from Johns Hopkins, has caught fire in recent games, dumping in seven goals on his last eight shots and recording nine points across his last three starts.
  • Luke Nestor - The Bennett High School product elevated his game in 2024, concluding the regular season with 50 goals. His 2.94 goals per game clip ranks fourth in the conference, while his five man-up goal tally slots fifth in the CLC.
  • Brice Bromwell - Bromwell has already reached career-highs in assists (28) and points (69) through the end of the regular season, ranking seventh in the CLC in assists per game (1.65) and eighth in points per outing (4.06). He enters the postseason on a tear, tallying 13 points across his last two appearances.
  • Jack Dowd - The 6'5" graduate midfielder has logged 61 points on 36 goals and 25 assists, finishing the campaign by tying his career-high with five assists against Cabrini. Dowd has served as SU's top man-up threat, logging eight man-up goals to rank second in the CLC and 29th nationally.
  • Charlie White - A fixture in Salisbury's second midfield line, White tied his career mark from 2022 in five fewer games, firing 17 goals while appearing in all 17 games.
  • Blake Malamphy - Malamphy improved upon an already impressive freshman season a year ago, headlining the conference and standing 17th in D-III with a faceoff win percentage of 66.2 percent (204-308) and a career-high 137 ground balls, surpassing the figure he reached in 23 appearances last season by one.
  • John DeFazio - DeFazio pushed the boundary once again in 2024, posting a new high mark in the regular season with 45 caused turnovers and adding 75 ground balls. DeFazio ranks second in the CLC and 22nd nationally averaging 2.65 forced errors per game and topped 300 career ground balls in the campaign.
  • Bryce Stevenson - Stevenson took major strides in his first season as a starting defenseman, scooping 36 ground balls and causing 24 turnovers to aid the 11th-ranked scoring defense across Division III.
  • Reagan McNemar - The Towson transfer looked right at home in the maroon and gold, picking up 36 ground balls and forcing 11 turnovers in his introduction to Division III lacrosse.
  • Jeremiah Stafford - Stafford took the starting LSM spot and ran with it, ranking second on the team with 26 caused turnovers while picking up 30 ground balls. The Darien, Conn. product ranks fifth in the conference averaging 1.53 caused turnovers per game.
  • Braden Glushakow - The 2022-23 SU Scholar-Athlete of the Year continued to lock down the opposition as SU's top short-stick defensive middie, posting 21 ground balls and five caused turnovers while scoring his ninth and 10th career goals in 2024.
  • Nicholas Ransom - Ransom finished the 2024 season with a perfect 17-0 record in the cage, improving his career tally to 37-0. Ransom made 114 saves on a CLC-leading 56.2 save percentage with a GAA of 6.59, the lowest across all divisions of NCAA lacrosse while topping 300 career saves this season as well.

  • Goalkeeper - #24 Zac Hanway: Hanway started in 16 games with a 10.83 goals-against average, concluding the season with a 49.8 save percentage and 139 saves.

  • Faceoff - #11 Tyler Horvath: Horvath finished the season 266-of-468 from the faceoff X with a 56.8 faceoff win percentage and a team-high 157 ground balls.
  • Goalkeeper - #35 Ben Blum: Blum has taken over the starting job between the pipes and performed well, including a 14-save effort against Montclair in the CLC quarterfinals.

  • Offensive Player to Watch - #4 Dylan Johnson: Johnson finished the season with a team-high 55 goals and continued success in CLC quarterfinals with five goals vs. UMW. 
  • Defensive Player to Watch - #11 Drew Tucker: Tucker logged 60 ground balls and caused 21 turnovers in 2024.
  • Faceoff - #26 Jacob Dvoor: Dvoor wrapped the campaign with a faceoff win percentage of 53.8 percent (163-303) and a team-high 95 ground balls.
  • Faceoff - #00 Christian Updale: Updale finished the season with a faceoff win percentage of 51.9 percent (105-202) and 61 ground balls.
  • Goalkeeper - #30 Nick Paterno: Paterno was key for Kean in the CLC quarterfinals, making 20 saves in the win. Paterno has made 191 saves at a 52.2 percent clip and holds a 12.74 GAA.
