No. 38 Men’s Tennis outpunches F&M, 5-4

LANCASTER, Pa. – The 38th-ranked Salisbury University men's tennis team bounced back from a 5-4 defeat on Friday by securing a 5-4 victory of its own, edging out the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats on Saturday afternoon at the Brooks Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Sea Gulls raced out to a three-match lead with a sweep of doubles play. Jhayden Pappas and Gianluca Beaujon took first doubles by an 8-3 margin, as did Caleb Brightman and Gurv Suri in second doubles, while Aron Bursztyn and Mitchell Desman put away third doubles 8-6.
  • Beaujon took care of business in second singles, besting the Diplomats' Zac Ashtiani 6-3, 6-4.
  • Suri put it in the books for SU with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Samuel Donnelly in third singles.
  • Salisbury has now played in six matches decided by 5-4 margins this season, improving to 4-2.
UP NEXT
  • The Sea Gulls will play in their third straight road match next Saturday at No. 19 TCNJ. First serve from Ewing, N.J., is set for 1 p.m.
