Women’s Tennis falls to No. 20 CNU in C2C semifinals

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The fourth-seeded Salisbury University women's tennis team ran up against too tall a challenge in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament semifinals, falling 5-0 to the 20th-ranked and top-seeded Christopher Newport Captains on Saturday afternoon at the UMW Indoor Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sarah Cooper and Lily Muir in second doubles won a game in an 8-1 defeat, as did Hannah Carter and Evelyn Whiteside in third doubles.
  • Cooper was hanging tough in third singles against Mia Linam, trailing 6-3, 4-1 when the Captains won first and second singles to clinch the overall match.
WRAPPING UP
  • The Sea Gulls finish the 2024 season with a 14-5 record, good for their most wins in one season since 2018.
