CLEVELAND – With three of its fall teams earning recognition for postseason runs, Salisbury University capped the 2025 calendar year
slotting 27th in the Learfield Directors' Cup for NCAA Division III, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) on Tuesday.
The Sea Gulls racked up
184.00 points toward the Directors' Cup through the conclusion of fall 2025 competition, as determined by the member institutions' finish at the NCAA Championships. The mark places SU at No. 27 among the 178 schools that garnered points in the fall championship season.
The Salisbury field hockey team secured 70 points after advancing to the quarterfinal round of its NCAA Tournament, while football locked down 64 points after qualifying for the round of 16, and volleyball earned 50 points by making the round of 32.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was established as a joint effort between the NACDA and
USA Today. Standings published in the middle of the season are unofficial, with official standings published at the conclusion of the spring athletics season. Salisbury has placed in the top 40 nationally in the final standings for three straight years, including a 37th-place finish in 2024-25.
