Women’s Tennis rallies past Washington (Md.), 4-3

SALISBURY, Md. – Back in action for the first time in over a week, the Salisbury University women's tennis team erased an early deficit to win four singles matches and best the Washington College Shorewomen 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls dropped the doubles point despite a winning effort from Gibelle Beaujon and Olivia Hall in first doubles (6-3). In second doubles, Lily Muir and Evelyn Whiteside put up a great fight but ultimately lost in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-5).
  • Beaujon earned SU's first point of the day by breezing through Eva Kading in first singles (6-2, 6-1). Muir notched another with a straight-sets win over Isabella Sorhegui in third singles [6-4, 7-6 (7-5)].
  • Ridgley Lake endured a challenge in fifth singles, taking down Sofia Sperandei in three sets (6-4, 3-6, 6-2).
  • Whiteside battled back after dropping the first set of fourth singles, outlasting Jayda Browne to clinch the match for Salisbury (5-7, 6-3, 6-4).
 
The Sea Gulls will play on back-to-back days at home this weekend, starting on Saturday against Rutgers-Camden. First serve from the SU Outdoor Tennis Center is set for 11 a.m.
