SALISBURY, Md. – The sixth-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team secured its fifth straight win and 10th of the 2025 campaign, emerging from a defensive struggle with a 9-5 triumph on Saturday afternoon at Sea Gull Stadium.
Grace Doyle and
Audrey Harrington joined forces to produce the game's first three goals in under three minutes, beginning when the latter connected with the former at the 13:31 mark for the opening score. The Sea Gulls (10-3) tacked on solo strikes from each half of the duo to extend the lead to three through just over four minutes.
The back lines clamped down for nearly seven scoreless minutes, combining to force eight turnovers before the Lions (9-3, 2-0 NJAC) snuck a free-position goal across with just over four minutes left in the frame.
Regan McDonnell found
Alexandra Parker for a player-up response before the period's end to return the margin to three, 4-1.
SU slung in three more goals to balloon the advantage to six with 6:02 to play in the first half.
Julianna Ott joined the party in the scoring column before Doyle fired her third from the eight-meter, with Parker setting the table for
Miranda Mears before a late Lion goal set the halftime score, 7-2.
The Sea Gull defensive unit blanked their opposition for nearly 20 minutes of game action after an early Lion tally to open the half.
Carly Hoffman delivered an assist to Parker to answer the early goal while the Harrington-Doyle connection resurfaced in the final two minutes of the third and the Sea Gulls quelled the Lion attack in the fourth to earn the 9-5 victory.
