NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The fourth-seeded Salisbury University women's tennis team saw its championship chase to an end in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament semifinals, falling to the 32nd-ranked and top-seeded Christopher Newport Captains on Saturday morning at the Eyre Tennis Center.
MATCH NOTES
- CNU took the doubles point by winning the first and third doubles matchups.
- Gibelle Beaujon won three games in first singles, ultimately falling 6-2, 6-1 to Raine Weis.
- The Captains also won second and third singles to secure the clinching points. Fourth, fifth, and sixth singles went unfinished, as did second doubles.
The Sea Gulls will play their final match of the season - weather pending - in the C2C Third Place match against third-seeded Mary Washington on Sunday at 10 a.m.
