Winebrenner, Burroughs headline 11 All-C2C selections for No. 7 Baseball

Winebrenner becomes fifth straight from SU to win Player of the Year

SALISBURY, Md. – The seventh-ranked Salisbury University baseball team cleaned up some major hardware from the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C), placing 11 players on the 2025 All-C2C teams and winning two major awards, as revealed by the league office on Wednesday. Catcher Dylan Winebrenner was named C2C Player of the Year, and outfielder Noah Burroughs took home C2C Rookie of the Year.

Eight Sea Gulls were named to the All-C2C First Team. Joining Winebrenner and Burroughs were pitchers Tyler Villa, Aidan Brinsfield, and Bryce Sterling; first baseman Danny Sheeler; second baseman Max Ehrhardt; and third baseman Jackson Inman. SU's three All-C2C Honorable Mentions included designated hitter Andrew Kell and pitchers Cole Williams and Josh Rivera.

Winebrenner (Sr. – Frederick, Md.) is now the fifth consecutive Sea Gull to win C2C Player of the Year – joining Justin Meekins, Kavi Caster, Sheeler, and Kell – and the 14th SU player since 2001 to win the conference's top individual award. He played in all 38 of Salisbury's regular season games, starting 37 of them between catcher and DH, and slashed .381/.469/.680 with 14 doubles, three triples, eight home runs, 49 RBIs, 43 runs, eight stolen bases, and an 1.149 OPS. Behind the dish he posted a .988 fielding percentage and caught 64.3 percent (9-of-14) of runners who attempted to steal a base against him.

Winebrenner led the C2C in homers, RBIs, and doubles, while ranking top-10 in triples, batting average, and steals. He becomes a two-time All-C2C First-Teamer after being recognized among the league's best in 2024.

Burroughs (Fr. – Millsboro, Del.) is the second straight Sea Gull to win C2C Rookie of the Year after Williams earned it last season, as well as the program's fifth overall. He started all 38 games primarily in the corner outfield positions, slashing .384/.438/.656 with 12 doubles, four triples, seven homers 46 RBIs, 42 runs, 14 steals, and a 1.094 OPS.

Burroughs boasted top-three conference numbers in average, doubles, triples, homers, RBIs, and steals, tying for the league lead in triples. He was the only SU player to win C2C Player of the Week twice this season (Mar. 10, Apr. 14).

Villa (Jr. – Marlboro, N.J.) started Opening Day on the hill for the second straight season, setting the tone for his first all-conference selection. In 12 games (11 starts), he posted a perfect 5-0 record with a 2.72 ERA that ranked third in the league, striking out 33 batters against 29 walks over 53 innings. Villa's finest outing came on Apr. 27 against C2C rival Christopher Newport; he held the captains to one hit over seven scoreless innings to anchor an 8-0 shutout win.

Brinsfield [So. – Salisbury, Md. (Parkside)] followed a stellar freshman campaign with stronger numbers in 2025. Over 11 starts he went 4-0 with a 3.62 ERA, one complete game, 18 walks, and 54 strikeouts over 49.2 innings. Brinsfield tossed an eight-inning three-hit shutout to beat St. Mary's (Md.) on Apr. 23, good for his second career solo clean sheet.

Sterling (Sr. – New Castle, Del.) emerged as the Sea Gulls' top option out of the bullpen, posting a league-leading six saves, which ranks 24th nationally and fourth in single-season SU history. Sterling has gone 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA over 18 appearances out of the bullpen, striking out 22 and walking just two batters over 19 innings of work.

Sheeler (Sr. – Towson, Md.) is now a three-time First-Team All-C2C selection after becoming one of three SU players to register an OPS of over a thousand (1.064). He started all 38 games at first base, posting a slash line of .359/.492/.572 with eight doubles, one triple, seven homers, 38 RBIs, 51 runs, and 11 steals. Sheeler's seven dingers tie him for second in the C2C, and with 28 career home runs he is tied for fourth in Salisbury history.

Ehrhardt (Jr. – Bristow, Va.) emerged as the Sea Gulls' leadoff hitter and everyday second baseman, setting the tone at the top of a lineup that averaged 9.3 runs per game. He slashed .299/.471/.402 with seven extra-base hits, 19 RBIs, 31 runs, two steals, and an .873 OPS over 36 games (27 starts), plus a .991 fielding percentage with 16 double play turns. Ehrhardt placed 10 successful sacrifice bunts, good for eighth in Division III.

Inman (Fr. – Damascus, Md.) joined Burroughs as a breakout rookie in the middle of the Salisbury batting order. He played in all 38 games and made 37 starts at third base, posting a .333/.451/.620 slash line with eight doubles, four triples, seven homers, 39 RBIs, 35 runs, five steals, and a 1.071 OPS. Inman tied for the league lead in three-baggers and tied for second in round-trippers; he was also the only Sea Gull to make the D3baseball.com Team of the Week (Mar. 19) during the year.

Kell (Sr. – Columbia, Md.) adds a C2C honorable mention nod to last year's Player of the Year and All-C2C First Team campaign. In 34 starts between DH and the outfield, he slashed .328/.434/.443 with eight doubles, two homers, 26 RBIs, 29 runs, four steals, and an .877 OPS. Kell ranked top-10 in the league in doubles and average.

Williams (So. – Silver Spring, Md.) followed up his 2024 C2C Rookie of the Year push with an honorable mention from the league in 2025. In 16 appearances (eight starts), he posted a 6-2 mark with a 3.92 ERA, one save, 14 walks, and 43 strikeouts over a team-high 62 innings. Williams tied for the conference lead in wins while ranking fifth in ERA and punchouts.

Rivera (Jr. – Leesburg, Va.) emerged as one of the Sea Gulls' most important options out of the bullpen. Over 13 relief appearances, he went 2-0 and gave up just one earned run over 17.1 innings (0.52 ERA) while walking seven and striking out 21.

Salisbury has a chance to win its fourth C2C title in five years from the friendly confines of Donne Williams Stadium. The top-seeded Sea Gulls clinched a bye into the C2C Tournament championship and will face the winner of second-seeded Mary Washington and third-seeded CNU on Thursday at 2:30 p.m., one day earlier than originally scheduled due to rain in the forecast on Friday.
