Baseball, Women’s Lacrosse garner top-10 preseason positions

SALISBURY, Md. – Presenting Roadie Joes Rankings for the third Wednesday in January, featuring strong championship metrics for Salisbury men's and women's swimming and top-10 preseason placements for baseball and women's lacrosse.
 
Men's Swimming – 10th | Swimcloud Division III Championship Meet Team Rankings
Salisbury carries a 645.98 quality-of-swims metric, one slot ahead of New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) rival TCNJ (642.14) and one back of Johns Hopkins (650.80).
 
The Sea Gull men returned from winter hiatus in emphatic fashion with a 212-49 win over Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. Dominic Kazzi, Michael DeSimone, and Mason Potts shared the team lead with three gold medals each as SU took first prize in all 14 events on the day.
 
SU heads to Washington, D.C. for its penultimate dual meet of the regular season against Catholic on Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
Women's Swimming – 12th | Swimcloud Division III Championship Meet Team Rankings
Salisbury's NJAC-best 595.91 quality-of-swims metric lands it a shade over No. 13 Johns Hopkins (595.22) and just behind No. 11 Carnegie Mellon (600.63).
 
The Sea Gulls won their final home meet of the season, ousting Franklin & Marshall 186-76 on Saturday. Four SU swimmers combined for three gold or silver medals on the day, with Libby Miyashita reeling in NJAC Women's Rookie of the Week after setting a Maggs Pool record to win the 200 fly.
 
SU has two dual meets left on its schedule, starting on Saturday with a visit to Catholic at 1 p.m.
 
Baseball – 5th | D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25, Preseason
Salisbury racked up 452 points in the sport's preeminent ranking for the preseason, holding court between No. 4 Kean (515) and No. 6 Lynchburg (439). The top three consisted of UW-Whitewater (598), Endicott (577), and Denison (528).
 
The Sea Gulls enter 2026 looking to build on their 34-10 mark and fifth straight NCAA regional title in 2025. SU begins the new season on Saturday, Feb. 14, with home showdown against Moravian at 1 p.m.
 
Women's Lacrosse – 8th | IWLCA Division III Rankings, Preseason
Salisbury maintained a top-eight slot after advancing to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals in 2025, flanked at No. 7 by York (Pa.) and No. 9 by Washington & Lee. Middlebury will enter the 2026 season at No. 1, followed by Tufts at No. 2 and Colby at No. 3.
 
The Sea Gulls will look to build on a 16-5 campaign and second straight berth in the final eight last year. The new season begins on Saturday, Feb. 7 on the road at Stevenson; the Sea Gulls' first home game will be Sunday, Feb. 22 against Washington & Lee at 12 p.m.
