Field Hockey — 6th | Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll, Oct. 6
Salisbury (8-2) slipped two spots to No. 6 nationally with 364 points, slotting between No. 5 Williams (385) and No. 7 Hamilton (346), while Tufts (475), Middlebury (449) and Christopher Newport (444) held down the top three spots.
The Sea Gulls went 2-1 on the week, dropping a 2-1 double-overtime decision at home to York (Pa.) on Wednesday before opening State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play with back-to-back road wins, 1-0 at Oswego State and 7-1 at SUNY Morrisville. SU outshot the Lakers 33-0 and never allowed a shot in Saturday's opener, then scored four times in a 95-second span in the second quarter on Sunday.
SU returns to Sea Gull Stadium to host Oneonta in SUNYAC play on Sunday at 11 a.m.

SyRus McGowan leading the charge with 95 of the team's 228 rushing yards.
SU will host NJAC rival Rowan in a key Homecoming showdown on Saturday, with kickoff from Sea Gull Stadium set for 1 p.m.

Salisbury's men and women checked in at Nos. 17 and 18, respectively, in the preseason poll – the first time either side has been nationally ranked to begin the season. The Sea Gull men totaled 123 points to sit between No. 16 Johns Hopkins (160) and No. 18 Connecticut College (113), while the Sea Gull women racked up 122 points to land between No. 17 Johns Hopkins (128) and No. 19 Calvin (104).
Both SU open their regular seasons on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Division II West Chester, then travel to NJAC foe Rowan on Oct. 31 before hosting TCNJ in the home opener on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. inside Maggs Pool.
Men's Soccer — 28th | NCAA Power Index (NPI), Oct. 4
Salisbury (8-1-2) checked in at 28th in the fall's first postseason metric with a score of 55.349, nestled between No. 27 Bowdoin (55.431) and No. 29 Scranton (55.344).
The Sea Gulls pushed their unbeaten run to three games, battling to a scoreless draw with No. 9 Catholic on Wednesday before downing Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) rival Mary Washington, 2-0, on Saturday for SU's first win in Fredericksburg in 11 years.
Tanner Calzado scored the game-winner, his second in three contests, while goalkeeper
Clif Nehman made five saves for his third straight clean sheet and second straight C2C weekly defensive honor.
SU hosts in-state rival Johns Hopkins on Wednesday at 4 p.m. before welcoming St. Mary's (Md.) for Senior Day on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex.
