O’Donoghue adds 200 free All-America to NCAA Championships haul

INDIANAPOLIS – Continuing to build on her reputation as one of the nation's top rookies, Rowan O'Donoghue of the 20th-ranked Salisbury University women's swimming team added a second All-America title to her 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships haul after Day 2 in the water on Thursday at the IU Natatorium.

O'Donoghue (Fr. – Newark, Del.) secured Second-Team All-America laurels in the 200-yard freestyle, making it a pair of Second-Team nods after winning the same honor in Wednesday's 500 free. She tied for ninth in the morning prelims with a time of 1:50.74, just 16 hundredths of a second back of the First-Team cutline. In the evening's finals, O'Donoghue swam the distance in 1:50.27, good for 11th place overall.

A second All-America turn for O'Donoghue highlighted a day that saw Salisbury put competitors in three events. Addi Wood also raced in the 200 free, placing 48th in 1:58.41. In the 100 butterfly, Libby Miyashita (56.81) and Lily Griffin (57.02) slotted 39th and 41st, respectively. SU also had a team in the 200 free relay that was disqualified after an early take-off.

With O'Donoghue adding six points to the Sea Gulls' total for the meet, Salisbury hits the halfway point of the championship meet tied for 28th-place positioning on the strength of seven points.

The Sea Gulls ready for Day 3 at the NCAA Championships – featuring the 200 medley relay, 100 breaststroke, 200 fly, and 800 free relay – on Friday. Prelims are locked in for 10 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m.
