No. 18 Men’s Swimming ties for 26th at NCAA Championships

Sea Gulls earn second-ever placement on rolls at nationals

INDIANAPOLIS – The 18th-ranked Salisbury University men's swimming team completed its most fruitful season in program history with a finish among the nation's best, tying for 26th after the fourth and final day of the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday at the IU Natatorium.

The Sea Gulls garnered a total of 32 points throughout the national meet, sitting in a tie with Gettysburg, Coast Guard, and Hope College for 26th out of 46 scoring teams. The placement marks Salisbury's highest-ever final placement at nationals after the men slotted 30th at the 1998 championships.

In their only event on Saturday, Owen Brewer, Mason Potts, Michael DeSimone, and Cameron Byrd took to the water in the 400-yard freestyle relay, ultimately placing 22nd in prelims.

Salisbury finishes the meet with a haul of three All-America titles, including its first-ever First-Team All-America laurels in the 200 medley relay (Potts, Dominic Kazzi, Michael Paulos, DeSimone). Standing alongside were Second-Team honorees Byrd (100 butterfly) and the 400 medley relay quartet (Potts, Kazzi, Byrd, Brewer).
