SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team saw its nine-match winning streak come to an end at the behest of 20th-ranked Williams, falling to the Ephs 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center.
MATCH NOTES
- The Ephs seized the doubles point by taking all three matches, though Gibelle Beaujon and Cleo Solomon fared best in first doubles, pushing their foes to a 7-5 decision.
- Beaujon kept the momentum rolling through a marathon first singles fixture, ultimately rallying to upend Williams's Zoe Yao 3-6, 7-6 (11-9), 1-0 (11-9).
- Solomon also pushed her foe to a third-set tiebreak before ultimately bowing to Julia Zhang, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-7).
The Sea Gulls will now their final five regular season matches away from home, starting on Sautrday with a visit to Bryn Mawr. First serve from Bryn Mawr, Pa., is set for 12 p.m.
