Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Players of the Week | Mar. 30-Apr. 5, 2026

SALISBURY, Md. – Five Salisbury University student-athletes became the latest crop of Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Players of the Week after drawing the eye of the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) and Coastal Lacrosse Conference (CLC).

Miranda Mears and Abby Fleishell delivered women's lacrosse yet another C2C Player of the Week sweep; Kai Smith and Marlyse Haack took home one C2C track and one field honor, respectively; and Matt Sentowski locked down top CLC defensive honors.

Miranda Mears | C2C Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week | Fourth Career (Third This Season)
Mears [Sr. – Salisbury, Md. (Parkside HS)] totaled nine goals and caused one turnover over the Sea Gulls' two victories last week. On Wednesday at Neumann she registered a hat trick, then on Saturday at Mary Washington she buried six of SU's 14 goals on the day. Mears, who has won back-to-back C2C offensive prizes, has scored three-plus goals in four straight contests.

Abby Fleishell | C2C Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week | Fifth Career (Second This Season)
Fleishell (Sr. – Sykesville, Md.) played a starring role on a Sea Gull defense that held opponents to 10 goals over two wins for the week. In Saturday's dub at Mary Washington, she picked up two ground balls and four ground controls while causing two Eagle turnovers.

Kai Smith | C2C Men's Track Athlete of the Week | Eleventh Career (Fourth This Season)
Smith (Sr. – Upper Marlboro, Md.) set further Sea Gull and C2C records in the 100 meters and 200 meters during a dominant weekend against Division I, II, and III foes at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational on the campus of George Mason University. His 200-meter time of 20.56 seconds is currently tops in Division III this season and eighth all-time, while his 100-meter effort of 10.37 seconds ranks fifth nationally.

Marlyse Haack | C2C Women's Field Athlete of the Week | Fourth Career (First This Season)
Haack (Sr. – Waretown, N.J.) shined among the three-division field at the GMU Dalton Ebanks Invitational. She placed 12th in the triple jump at 11.51 meters (37-9.25), good for 10th in Division III with a new school record. Haack also posted a new SU mark in the 100 meters (12.10) and helped the 4x100 relay team post another school record of 47.47 seconds, slotting 12th nationally.

Matt Sentowski | CLC Defensive Player of the Week | First Career
Sentowski (Jr. – Mountain Lakes, N.J.) proved himself a brick wall in Saturday's 22-3 dub over Mary Washington, registering 10 saves and surrendering just one goal over 42-plus minutes between the pipes. He also scooped up a pair of ground balls to contribute to the Sea Gulls' most lopsided win of the year.
