No. 2 Women’s Lacrosse spots seven on IWLCA All-Region teams

The 18-0 and second-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse program saw seven Sea Gulls rake in Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Chesapeake Region honors, as announced by the organization on Friday.

Five of Salisbury's recipients landed on the first team. Abby Fleishell, Audrey Harrington, Miranda Mears, Reagan Davis and Regan McDonnell secured top-team nods. Sydney Block and Paige Ellis secured second-team laurels.

Fleishell, a senior defender from Sykesville, Md., has been a consistent shutdown defender for SU, corralling 44 ground balls, 54 draw controls and causing 29 turnovers. Fleishell has lived up to being announced the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Defender of the Year and has led the Sea Gulls to a top-30 scoring defense at 7.44 goals allowed per game.

Harrington, a senior attacker from Ellicott City, Md., has produced 43 goals and 36 assists across the 2026 and leads the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference in assists per game with two a contest. Harrington posted five goals in the C2C Championship and produced a goal and five assists in SU's NCAA Second Round bout with Union on Sunday, resulting in a 17-9 Salisbury dub.

Mears, a senior attacker from Parkside High School in Salisbury, leads the C2C in shot percentage (56.6%). Mears posted back-to-back five-goal outings against Shenandoah and No. 6 Gettysburg on March 7 and March 11, respectively, and netted six tallies on the road at Mary Washington on April 4. Mears registered a sock-trick on Sunday against Union to advance Salisbury past the Garnet Chargers, 17-9.

Davis, a senior defender from Finksburg, Md., has helped anchor the Sea Gulls defensively. Starting in 61-straight contests, Davis garnered a C2C Defensive Player of the Week nod for a four-caused turnover game against No. 6 Gettysburg on March 11. The Westminster High School tallied 21 ground balls and 17 forced turnovers on the year.

McDonnell, a junior from Severna Park, Md., has been a lethal two-way threat for the Maroon and Gold in her second year as a starter in the midfield. McDonnell has scored in 16 of 18 affairs, tallying 28 goals and four helpers, while collecting 22 ground balls, 20 caused turnovers and 56 draw controls. McDonnell filled up the stat sheet in SU's come-from-behind victory against No. 7 York (Pa.), going for three goals, an assist, three grounders, three caused miscues and three draw controls.

Ellis, a senior goalkeeper from Fairfax, Va. has been a steady force in the cage, boasting a 7.66 goals against average, good enough for 21st in the country and a 45.4 percent save percentage while touting a 17-0 record.
Ellis turned out her best performance in the first contest against CNU, making 11 stops, and has since caused five turnovers and claimed seven ground balls in the past two games.

Block, a sophomore defender from Parkside High School in Salisbury, has carved out a role on the Salisbury backline. The former Parkside Ram has started in 17 of 18 games and has chased down 15 ground balls and caused 7 errors. Block's signature game came in the C2C title game against CNU, where the former Parkside Ram posted three ground balls and caused a career-best three turnovers.

The Sea Gulls will head into their 10th consecutive second weekend of the NCAA Tournament and will host No. 14 York (Pa.) inside Sea Gull Stadium on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., with the winner facing the advancing team between No. 5 Denison and No. 19 Christopher Newport on Sunday at 1 p.m. for a spot in the Final Four in Rochester, NY.
