NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Salisbury University softball program fell in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal Friday afternoon with a 5-4 loss against the University of Mary Washington (17-24) inside Captains Park. The Sea Gulls wrap up the regular season (24-15).
Courtney Johnson got the scoring started with a solo home run in the bottom of the first. The game was held scoreless until the top of the fourth when Mary Washington took a 2-1 lead.
The Sea Gulls responded quickly in the bottom frame of the inning with
Michalea Troy blasting a two-run homer to regain the lead, 3-2. SU added another in the fifth with
Morgan Moxley leading the inning off with a single, and scored on a
Karlie Wolfe RBI double.
The Eagles were able to tie the game in the sixth, 4-4, before taking the lead in the top of the seventh and hanging on for the narrow victory.

The Sea Gulls wrapped up the 2026 regular season (24-15) with three C2C Major Conference awards and six All-C2C honorees.
