Please review before submitting nominations for the Salisbury University Athletics Hall of Fame
General Guidelines
- No individual may nominate his or her self.
- A nominee may be deceased; however, deceased nominees must have passed away at least two years prior to selection into the Hall of Fame.
- If a nominee is not selected within a period of five years, he/she is automatically removed from the list of active nominees. A second nomination shall remain active for a period of three years, after which it will be placed on a permanent inactive status.
- Nominations must be submitted by April 15 to be considered for that calendar year's class.
Student-Athlete Criteria
- Must have significantly contributed to the athletic heritage of Salisbury University.
- Must have graduated from Salisbury University.
- Must have graduated for at least 10 years prior to their selection for the Hall of Fame.
- Strong consideration will be given to the following: varsity letters won; postseason honors earned (e.g. MVP, all-conference, All-region, All-American); leadership on and off the field; outstanding athleticism in more than one sport; national and/or international prominence attained since leaving the University.
Coaches Criteria
- Must have significantly contributed to the athletic heritage of Salisbury University.
- Must have been a head coach in one or more sports at Salisbury University.
- Must have been out of coaching (in his/her primary sport) for at least five years.
- A coach with at least 20 years of coaching experience is automatically eligible, upon nomination, as soon as he/she discontinues coaching in his/her primary sport.
- Strong consideration will be given to the following: won/lost record; length of service; strength of won/lost record; graduation rate of his/her athletes; post-season playoff appearances; conference/regional/national sport committee service; respect from student-athletes; championships won; number of sports coached; and coach of the year awards.
Non-Coach/Non-Athlete Criteria
- Must have significantly contributed to the athletic heritage of Salisbury University.
- Must have served at least 15 years at Salisbury University.
- Must have performed an outstanding and/or special service to the athletics program.
- Must have ended University service for at least five years; however, after 20 years of service, individuals can become eligible, upon nomination, as soon as they discontinue service to the University.
