Throughout the Sea Gull Sports Network's first decade-plus, several former student employees have continued their careers in the field of multimedia communication and journalism, landing jobs with television stations, newspapers and collegiate and professional sports teams throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and around the country. Here are a few of the proud alumni that helped build the foundation of their professional careers at SGSN.

SGSN Alumni: Samantha Douglass
I loved the work environment at SGSN and the bonds I created with my team. Each game brought a new energy that was fun to work in, and the chance to learn new things during every broadcast is something I valued. I am able to work in fast-paced environments now, and working with others is something I have grown to love.

SGSN Alumni: Zach Gilleland
What I enjoyed the most was working with other talented individuals and making friendships that will last a lifetime. SGSN helped me be comfortable on-air and grow in my confidence. SGSN is a great tool for students because it’s a great way to get on-air experience while having fun at the same time. You’re also getting paid to watch sports!

SGSN Alumni: Aprile Preller
What I enjoyed most about working at SGSN was the opportunity to connect with other SU athletes and coaches besides those on my own team. It gave me such a great perspective on team sports as a whole and made me connections that last a lifetime. Throughout my time as a coach, I’ve learned great relationships are at the backbone of success, and I began working on those skills long before I ever coached at SGSN.

SGSN Alumni: Travis Nardella
I really enjoyed the whole learning experience around working in sports. SGSN also taught me a lot about working on the fly. At MLB we have to know how to troubleshoot in live time throughout the day, and learning how to stay calm and figure out how to adapt at SGSN has definitely helped me to this day.
