Baseball jumps to No. 20 in latest poll

MINNEAPOLIS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association and released its first regular season national poll for the week ending on February 24, and the Salisbury University baseball team has moved up two spots to No. 20.

The Sea Gulls (3-1-1) won their first three games of the season before dropping a home game to No. 10 Cortland State University in the first half of a doubleheader, then finishing in a 12-inning 3-3 draw in the second half on February 22.

Wooster College (Ohio) remains atop the national poll, receiving 17 of the possible 25 first-place votes. Rowan University jumps up to number two after receiving six first-place votes, and Trinity University (Texas) sits in third place with the final two votes. Randolph-Macon College and Texas Lutheran University round out the top five.

Salisbury will take on Washington College on Wednesday afternoon at Sea Gull Baseball Stadium before hosting No. 15 Oswego State University in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 2.
