FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly baseball awards on Monday and for the second time in 2019 Salisbury University junior Jimmy Monaghan was named the league's Player of the Week.
Monaghan earned the honor after going 6-for-11 (.545) in a three-game weekend sweep of Frostburg State University. His hits included three doubles and eight RBI, with his highlight of the weekend coming on a grand slam in the sixth inning of the final game of the series.
Monaghan is now hitting .421 on the season and leads the team with 24 hits, six doubles, and 17 RBI.
The Sea Gulls return to action when they travel to Penn State University-Harrisburg for a three-game conference series against the Lions beginning Saturday, March 30 at 12 p.m.
