The Salisbury University baseball team returned to Sea Gull Baseball stadium on Sunday, March 24 to play the final two games of a three-game weekend series against Capital Athletic Conference opponent Frostburg State University. In game one, The Sea Gulls jumped out to an early lead against the Bobcats, which was extended to 7-4 in the bottom of the fifth on this solo home run by Matt Padeway. Salisbury fell behind 10-7 in the seventh, but Ron Villone cut the deficit to 10-9, scoring two runs on this single into center field. It was Villone again in the eighth inning on this two-RBI single up the middle to give his team the late 11-10 lead. Xavier Marmol got the win, pitching the final 2 1/3 innings in relief, striking out two batters in the process. Salisbury trailed 2-0 through five innings in game two, but an eight-run sixth inning that began with this pinch hit two-RBI double by Troy Miller… Was capped off by this Jimmy Monaghan Grand slam to straight away center field. Starter Zach Amisano got the win for the Sea Gulls, pitching eight full innings while striking out two batters and allowing only two earned runs. The team will hit the road this weekend to take on CAC opponent Penn State-Harrisburg in a three-game series beginning on Saturday, March 30 at 12 p.m.
