SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University football team will be suiting up for an NCAA tournament quarterfinal game for the first time since 1986 this Saturday, and they will be doing so nearly 1,000 miles from Salisbury. The Sea Gulls will play at No. 1 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Salisbury students, staff and faculty that won't be making the trip to Whitewater, will have the opportunity to watch the game on campus, in Perdue Hall's Bennett Family Auditorium. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., with popcorn and drinks available before kickoff, which will be at 1 p.m. No food or drinks are permitted in the auditorium.
Saturday's game marks Salisbury's second-deepest run into the NCAA tournament, having played in the Division III championship game, the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in 1986.
