Football moves up three spots in each poll

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University football team climbed three spots in each of the national polls this week, rising to No. 19 in the American Football Coaches Association poll and No. 22 in the poll.

The Sea Gulls, who topped William Paterson University on Saturday, 77-19, garnered 258 points in the AFCA poll, landing 33 points behind No. 18 Wabash College. In the poll, Salisbury earned 106 points, a mere 14 behind fellow New Jersey Athletic Conference member Rowan University, which stands at No. 21. Salisbury and Rowan are the only NJAC schools represented in the national polls this week.

The top four teams in each poll are identical and have not changed since last week, with the University of Mount Union holding the top spot in both polls, followed by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and the University of St. Thomas Minnesota.

In the poll, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh remained at No. 5, while North Central University moved up one spot, into the top five, in the AFCA poll this week.

The Sea Gulls are home on Saturday, October 22, hosting Kean University at Sea Gull Stadium, with kickoff slated for 1 p.m.
