Football holds at No. 25 in latest poll

MINNEAPOLIS – The Salisbury University football team held at No. 25 in the latest poll, released on Sunday night.

The Sea Gulls climbed into the top 25 for the first time this season last week, and held its position following a 33-0 win against Rowan University on Saturday, October 28. Salisbury received 66 points in this week's poll, nearly doubling its total from a week ago, now standing just four points behind No. 24 Wheaton (Ill.) College.

The Salisbury defense recorded its second-consecutive shutout in the victory against Rowan, while the offense totaled 417 yards in the victory, led by 125 rushing yards from quarterback Brandon Lewis.

The Sea Gulls are joined by two other New Jersey Athletic Conference schools in the poll, with Wesley College at No. 13, garnering 324 points, and Frostburg State University getting 294 points in this week's poll to stand at No. 14. Those two teams are Salisbury's final two opponents of the regular season, with the Sea Gulls heading to Wesley this Saturday, November 4, for a game beginning at noon.
