Football climbs to No. 17 in Top 25

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Salisbury University football team climbed six spots to 17th in the latest Top 25 poll, which was released Sunday night.

Despite a bye week, Salisbury totaled 166 points to move from 23rd to the 17th spot in the poll. Mary Hardin-Baylor remained in the top spot with 616 points and 18 first-place votes. Mount Union collected the remaining seven first-place votes and 604 points in the poll to sit second.

Salisbury and Wesley remain the only New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) schools in the Top 25 with the Wolverines just three spots ahead of the Sea Gulls in 14th.

After another bye this week, Salisbury will be back in action on Sat., Oct. 5 when they head to Northern New Jersey to open NJAC play against the Montclair St. Red Hawks. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
