Garrett garners NJAC Player of the Week honors

PITMAN, N.J. – Salisbury University freshman defensive back/returner Troy Garrett earned New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his performance in No. 10 Salisbury's 65-16 win on Saturday at Kean.

Garrett averaged 52.0 yards per kickoff return, including a 75-yard third quarter effort which set up a Sea Gull touchdown. Garrett also notched a 21-yard punt return and two tackles to help Salisbury remain the NJAC's lone unbeaten team.

Garrett becomes the third different Sea Gull to pick up NJAC Special Team honors this season. Fellow freshman Michael Gillespie was award the NJAC weekly award on Sept. 15 while junior kicker Bert Schrecongost received the conference special teams award on Oct. 20.
