Norwood earns CoSIDA Academic All-District

SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury University senior offensive lineman Tyler Norwood was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team on Thursday.

Norwood was a 2018 All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Honorable Mention honoree and has helped the seventh-ranked Salisbury football team clinch the NJAC Championship and a berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Norwood and the rest of the offensive line pace a Salisbury offense that is ranked fourth in rushing, eighth in scoring offense and 27th in total offense in Division III.

A Conflict Analysis & Dispute Resolution major with a minor in Athletic Coaching at Salisbury, Norwood carries a 3.41 grade-point average and has made the Dean's List twice. He is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society.

To be eligible for Academic All-District consideration, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.3 grade-point average and reached sophomore athletic and academic standing. Student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games and be a starter or top reserve with legitimate athletic and academic credentials.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First- and second-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
