GILBERT, Ariz. – The most recent Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday, and the Salisbury University field hockey team moved up one spot, to No. 7.
The Sea Gulls (13-2, 4-0 Capital Athletic Conference) have oscillated between the No. 7 and No. 8 rankings since September 25; they earned 733 points in this week's poll. Middlebury College and Messiah College retained their No. 1 and No. 2 rankings, earning 1,152 points and 1,078 points, respectively. Last week's No. 4 team, Rowan University, moved up to No. 3 with 1,016 points, while Tufts University (994 points) was bumped a spot to No. 4. The College of New Jersey rounds out the top five with 834 points.
Salisbury wraps up its regular season in a home contest against CAC foe, No. 15 Christopher Newport University, on Wednesday at 6 p.m. With a win, the Sea Gulls would lock up the top seed in the CAC tournament.
