GILBERT, Ariz. – In the Week 1 Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Coaches Poll, the Salisbury University field hockey team moved up three spots to fourth in the Top 20 poll which was released on Tuesday.
To start the season, the Sea Gulls have a perfect 4-0 record, including a win over then-fourth ranked Messiah 2-1 on Sept. 7 to collect 951 points in the rankings. Middlebury remains at the top of the poll with 1162 points. Rowan moved to the second spot in the poll with 1030 points while Tufts sits third with 958 points, just seven points higher than Salisbury.
Salisbury hosts the Washington Shorewomen at Sea Gull Stadium on Wednesday at 6 p.m. before hitting the road on Saturday to take on the Cabrini Cavaliers at noon. Next week, Salisbury plays back-to-back ranked opponents. The Sea Gulls welcome the eighth-ranked Johns Hopkins Blue Jays on Wednesday, Sept. 18 before traveling to Ewing, N.J. on Saturday, Sept 21 to take on the No. 5 TCNJ Lions.
