Hughes, Johnston selected for NFHCA Division III Senior Game

GILBERT, Ariz. – A pair of Salisbury University field hockey standouts were selected as one of the 60 players for the Victory Sports Tour/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game.

Senior midfielder Arielle Johnston and senior defender Jillian Hughes will represent Salisbury during the annual contest. The Senior Game will take place in conjunction with the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championships is currently scheduled for 5 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 23 at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Manheim, Pa.

A First-Team NFHCA All-American and the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Player of the Year a season ago, Hughes is a three-time All-CAC First Team honoree and a two-time Longstreth/NFHCA All-South Region First Team player and a selection on the 2017 All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) First Team. In 2016, Hughes was named the CAC Rookie of the Year. In her career, Hughes tallied nine defensive saves, seven assists and six goals.

Johnston is a two-time All-CAC First Team honoree and a Longstreth/NFHCA All-South Region Second Team player in 2018. Johnston was also named to the All-ECAC Second Team in 2017. Johnston has totaled 22 goals and 20 points in her career in a Salisbury uniform.
