No. 3 Field Hockey battles No. 2 Middlebury in NCAA Final Four

MANHEIM, Pa. – The third-ranked Salisbury University field hockey team looks to capture its sixth national championship in 15 appearances in the NCAA Final Four. Standing in the way of the Sea Gulls' seventh national championship appearance is the two-time defending national champions, the Middlebury Panthers. Game time is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday. The winner will advance to face the winner of the other national semifinal matchup between Franklin & Marshall and Johns Hopkins in the NCAA Division III National Championship on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 1 p.m.

Tickets will cost $7 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens. Tickets are free for children under the age of two.

Spectators should park in Lot 6 on the south side of the complex. Guests should enter through 75 Champ Blvd. and will be directed by security on where to park. Overflow parking will be in the front of the building in Lots 2-4.


Salisbury earned hosting rights for the NCAA Second and Third Rounds, which brought FDU-Florham, No. 8 Rowan and No. 16 Lynchburg to Sea Gull Stadium. Salisbury won their second-round game, 1-0, over FDU-Florham. McKenzie Mitchell scored the lone goal of the game on a penalty stroke in the 44th minute.
The Sea Gulls proceeded to shut out the Lynchburg Hornets, 2-0, in the NCAA Third Round to advance to the NCAA Final Four. The Salisbury defense did not allow a Lynchburg shot or penalty corner in the contest. CAC Player of the Year, Arielle Johnston scored the goal that put Salisbury ahead a minute into the second half. Jenna Partilla tallied the insurance goal in the fourth quarter.
This is Salisbury's 15th appearance in the Final Four and first since 2016. Salisbury is looking for the sixth national championship in team history. The Sea Gulls were the final team standing following the 1986, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2009 seasons.
