YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly Player of the Week and Salisbury University senior forward Dominic Milburn was named the men's basketball award winner, the league announced Monday.
Milburn has been on a tear the previous six contests for the Sea Gulls and turned it up a notch this past week. The Silver Spring, Md., native set a new career high with 23 points against No. 25 St. Mary's College of Maryland during a conference clash on Thursday. He backed up that performance with a 16-point effort in a win against Southern Virginia University on Saturday, including a 12-foot fadeaway as time expired to give Salisbury (9-10) a 72-70 win.
Against St. Mary's, Milburn went 10-for-17 from the field, which set new career-highs for field goals made and attempted. The forward also tied his career best in rebounds (six) and assists (four) in the contest.
Milburn and the Sea Gulls will return to action this Wednesday, Feb. 5, welcoming Christopher Newport University to Maggs Physical Activities Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
