DANBURY, Conn. – Junior Wyatt Smith of the Salisbury University men's basketball team was named the Corvais Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South Player of the Week, the league announced.
Smith led the Sea Gulls to their final two victories of the year to clinch the No. 2 seed in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament and a first-round bye. He averaged a double-double on the week with 18.5 points and 10 rebounds per game.
The week began with a huge game for the Abington, Maryland native, as he netted 20 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in SU's 71-63 win over Marymount (Va.) University on February 18, before scoring 17 in the Gulls win over York College of Pennsylvania in double overtime on February 21, 85-77.
Smith and the Sea Gulls will host a CAC semifinal game on Thursday, February 26 against the University of Mary Washington; the opening tip is set for 8 p.m.
