Strong three-point shooting leads to Sea Gulls' win against St. Mary's
The Salisbury University men’s basketball team lit up the scoreboard on Saturday afternoon, topping visiting St. Mary’s College of Maryland 97-77. Gary Briddell came off the bench to score a career-high 25 points, including hitting seven of his nine tries from beyond the three-point line. He scored 14 points in a three-minute span in the first half, as Salisbury took the lead. Blair Davis just missed a triple-double, scoring 21 points to go with 10 rebounds, seven assists, and five steals. Mike Ward made a pair of three pointers, as Salisbury was good on more than 55 percent of its tries from outside. The sophomore scored 12 points in the contest. Senior captain Chase Kumor also scored a dozen as Salisbury improved its CAC record to 4-4. The Sea Gulls return to action on Wednesday, January 30, hosting the University of Mary Washington, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
