David Gardner enters his first season as Salisbury University’s Graduate Assistant for Aquatics and Swim Operations in 2026-27. In this role, Gardner supports the daily operation of the University’s aquatics programs while assisting with swim team operations, meet preparation, facility organization, and program administration.
Gardner joined the staff after completing a four-year career with the Sea Gulls from 2022-26. Competing primarily in the distance freestyle events, he helped the men’s program earn its best NJAC finish in program history as the 2026 conference runner-up. His highest individual conference finish came at the 2024 NJAC Championships, where he placed 12th in the 1,650 freestyle. He concluded his career by recording four personal-best performances at the 2026 NJAC Championships.
Outside the pool, Gardner served as Co-President of Salisbury’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and worked as a videographer for Salisbury Swimming and the Sea Gull Sports Network. He was also a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection.
Gardner graduated from Salisbury in 2026 with a degree in Data Science on the Geo-Analytics track and minors in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, and Business Analytics.
