Randy Halfpap was named the head coach of Salisbury University men’s and women’s tennis in January 2000 and enters his 26th season coaching at his alma mater in 2024-25.

Coaching Career Prior to Salisbury
Halfpap began his coaching career at Pomona-Pitzer (Calif.) as the assistant head coach in 1997 and became head coach the following season. The Pomona-Pitzer women’s team finished the season with top-20 rankings in both 1998 and 1999 and advanced to the NCAA West Regional in 1999. Halfpap also served as the women’s head coach at the Vivian Webb School in Claremont, Calif., for two years, guiding his squad to a top-five ranking.
Playing Career
Halfpap was a two-year letterman for the Sea Gulls, joining the SU program in 1995-96 as a transfer from Charles County Community College. He won the Capital Athletic Conference singles championship in his two seasons, claiming the title at No. 5 singles in 1996 and No. 3 singles in 1997. Halfpap posted a career singles mark of 23-9 at SU, including 15 wins as a senior in 1997. Halfpap also won the CAC doubles championship in 1997 and finished his career with a 20-14 doubles record. He completed his career with a 43-23 overall combined record. The Sea Gulls won the conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in both of Halfpap’s seasons with the program.
Personal Life
A native of Owings, Md., Halfpap earned his Bachelor’s from SU in 1997 and graduated with a Master’s in Education from Azusa Pacific University (Calif.) in 1999.
