A record nine Sea Gulls named All-CAC first team, Caruso and Berkman honored again

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Records continue to be broken and rewritten this season for the top-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team. The Capital Athletic Conference released its All-CAC teams this week and a record nine Sea Gulls were named to the first team. SU had two of the three first-team spots at attack, midfield and defense and swept the defensive midfielder, short stick specialist and goalie positions. There are only 12 spots on the first team.

SU coach Jim Berkman was named the CAC Men's Lacrosse Coach of the Year for a second year in a row while senior Chase Caruso repeated as the CAC Player of the Year.

Senior Eric Bishop and junior Matt Hickman were named All-CAC first team attackmen. Senior Matt Dasinger and sophomore Kylor Berkman were named All-CAC first team midfielders. Caruso repeated as the first team defensive midfielder while senior Luis Gonzalez was named the short stick midfielder. Senior Chris Heier made his second straight All-CAC first team defensive team along with fellow senior Kyle Hartzell. Senior netminder Max Zarchin edged out St. Mary's (Md.) College senior Rich Barr as the first team goalie.

Junior midfielder Brett Yoder was the lone Sea Gull on the All-CAC second team.
