Men's lacrosse sits at No. 2 in latest USILA poll

LOUISVILLE – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its weekly USILA / Warrior and New Balance 2019 Men's Coaches Division III Poll on Monday afternoon and Salisbury University remained in the No. 2 spot after a 1-0 week.

The Sea Gulls downed host Widener University 16-3 on February 16 to move to 3-0 on the season. Salisbury notched 408 points and picked up three of the total 22 first-place votes. Meanwhile, Wesleyan University remained atop the poll garnering 431 total points and earning 19 first-place votes. The Rochester Institute of Technology moved to 1-0 on the season and held strong at No. 3 earning 398 points while Amherst College (350) and Tufts University (349) remained No. 4 and No. 5 in the nation.

Salisbury is joined in the poll by Capital Athletic Conference rivals York College of Pennsylvania and Christopher Newport University. The Spartans pushed their record to 2-0 this past weekend and held strong at No. 7 while the Captains dropped three places down after a 1-1 week coming in at No. 16 this week.

Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, February 23 when it hosts No. 6 Gettysburg College in a rematch of last season's NCAA National Semifinal. Faceoff is set for 1 p.m. at Sea Gull Stadium.
