Men's Lacrosse holds strong at No. 2 in USILA poll

LOUISVILLE – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its weekly USILA / Warrior and New Balance 2019 Men's Coaches Division III Poll on Monday afternoon and the Salisbury University men's lacrosse team came in holding strong at No. 2 in the country after a 1-0 week.

The Sea Gulls picked up a big win downing top-10 opponent, now No. 8, Gettysburg College 17-10 on February 23. Salisbury did earn four of the total 24 first-place votes in the process.

The top five remained unchanged as Wesleyan (Conn.) University remained as top team in the country earning 20 first-place votes. The Rochester Institute of Technology remained at No. 3 after collecting its second win of the season. New England Small College Athletic Conference foes Amherst College and Tufts University rounded out the top five, placing No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

Capital Athletic Conference opponents York College of Pennsylvania and Christopher Newport University joined the Sea Gulls in the poll as the Spartans moved up a spot to No. 6 while the Captains moved up two spots to No. 14.

Salisbury will return to action on Sunday, March 3 when it hosts Ohio Wesleyan University. Faceoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. between the Sea Gulls and Battling Bishops.
