LOUISVILLE – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its Week 4 USILA / Warrior and New Balance 2019 Men's Coaches Division III Poll on Monday morning and Salisbury University found itself in a familiar spot coming in at No. 2 in this week's poll.
The Sea Gulls posted a 1-0 week downing visiting Ohio Wesleyan University, 18-9, on March 3. The maroon and gold received six of the total 22 first-place votes and totaled 423 points.
Wesleyan (Conn.) University stayed atop the nation behind a victory in its season opener over Williams College. The Cardinals received 15 first-place votes and totaled 425 points to hold the No. 1 ranking. The Rochester Institute of Technology (385) held strong at No. 3 while the top five saw it first change of the season with Tufts University (356) moving ahead of Amherst College (345) into the No. 4 spot while the Mammoths dropped to No. 5.
Salisbury is joined in the poll by fellow Capital Athletic Conference opponents York College of Pennsylvania, which came in at No. 6, and Christopher Newport University, which dropped two spots to No. 16.
Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, March 9 when it travels to out of conference foe, No. 19 Stevenson University for a prime time matchup with the Mustangs. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Mustang Stadium.
