SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team has announced that on Saturday, April 20 it will host its annual Lax 4 Leukemia Youth Day to coincide with its Capital Athletic Conference contest with Southern Virginia University.
Similar to 2018, the program will host a silent auction that will begin at 1 p.m., one hour prior to the start of the game against the Knights. The auction will conclude at the end of the third quarter with the winners being announced during the fourth quarter. All proceeds raised during the event will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The men's team has also extended an invitation to all youth lacrosse programs in the surrounding areas to come and cheer on the Sea Gulls at Sea Gull Stadium. All youth players who wear their team jersey will gain free admission into the stadium that afternoon. Each youth program in attendance will also be recognized over the public address system and will be invited down to the field after the game to enjoy an autograph session with current players for the maroon and gold.
The Sea Gulls have set a fundraising goal of $10,000 for this year's event. Anyone who is interested in making a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society can send checks, made out to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Maryland, to the Salisbury University men's lacrosse office, attention Kyle Gallagher.
Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, April 6 when it travels to Frostburg State University. Faceoff between the Sea Gulls and Bobcats is set for 11 a.m.
