Men's lacrosse voted unanimous No. 1 in latest USILA poll

LOUISVILLE – Salisbury remained atop the Division III world as it was voted the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll released on Monday morning.

The Sea Gulls posted a 1-0 week as they defeated Capital Athletic Conference opponent Frostburg State University on April 6. The maroon and gold accumulated all 22 first-place votes and totaled 440 points to lock down the top spot in the country.

The remainder of the top five saw a lot of change in the latest poll. Rochester Institute of Technology moved up one spot to No. 2 with 407 points, while CAC rival York College of Pennsylvania jumped two places to No. 3 as it totaled 377 points.

Wesleyan (Conn.) University made it first appearance back in the top five since week four coming in at No. 4 totaling 355 points. Amherst College, which garnered 360 points in this week's poll, rounded out the group falling three spots to No. 5.

CAC opponent Christopher Newport University closed out the poll as it totaled 34 points to sit at No. 20.

Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, April 10 when it hosts the 20th ranked Captains under the lights at Sea Gull Stadium. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
