INDIANAPOLIS – The National Collegiate Athletic Association released the field for the 2019 Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Sunday evening and No. 3 Salisbury University received an opening-round bye as well as the right to host a first-round contest on Tuesday, May 7. The Sea Gulls will begin NCAA tournament play in the second round on Wednesday, May 8.
Salisbury earned the first-round bye after winning its 22nd Capital Athletic Conference championship on May 4, 13-7, over No. 2 York College of Pennsylvania.
The Sea Gulls will host a first-round match-up between State University of New York Maritime College, which won the Skyline Conference, and Grove City College, which won the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
The Privateers advanced to the NCAA tournament by way of the automatic qualifier after defeating the United States Merchant Marine Academy, 16-13, in the Skyline Conference championship. Meanwhile, the Wolverines earned their way into the tournament after a defeating Westminster College, 14-3, in the inaugural Presidents' Athletic Conference championship.
Game times have yet to be determined for both the first and second-round contests.
