LOUSIVILLE – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its weekly Team of the week on Tuesday afternoon and Salisbury University junior goalie Brandon Warren earned recognition from the organization as he earned a spot on the team.
Warren turned in an exceptional week for the maroon and gold as he posted a 2-0 record to help the team claim its 22nd Capital Athletic Conference championship.
In the CAC semifinal contest against Christopher Newport University, Warren recorded eight saves and allowed just six goals to help the Sea Gulls advance to the CAC title game against the Spartans of York College of Pennsylvania. Warren was outstanding against the fourth ranked Spartans as he notched 16 saves en route to a save percentage .696.
For the week Warren totaled 118:50 minutes in cage, allowed 13 goals against for a goals against average of 6.56, and made 23 saves to record a save percentage of .649.
Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, May 8 when it takes on State University of New York Maritime College in the second round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. Faceoff is set for 5 p.m.
