DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference released its 2019 All-ECAC Men's Lacrosse awards on Thursday afternoon and Salisbury University had two players earn recognition from the organization as Josh Melton and Brett Malamphy were each named All-ECAC First Team.
Melton, completed an exceptional junior season in which he posted a team-high 118 points, netting 66 goals and dishing out another team-best 52 assists. Melton recorded at least two points in all 24 games this season for the maroon and gold, including a career-best 11 against State University of New York at Geneseo on March 23. His mark of 4.88 points per game ranked 34th in Division III lacrosse while his assists per game clip of 2.13 ranked 45th. Melton was also named a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association First Team All-American as well.
Malamphy, who was named a USILA First Team All-American as well the Faceoff Player of the Year and Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year, also garnered first team All-ECAC honors after an impressive 2019 season. Malamphy posted a win percentage of 73.1, which ranked him sixth in the country, while his 362 faceoff wins was tops in Division III. Malamphy's mark of 9.46 groundballs per game was 15th best in the nation.
